We spoke to Jodi from healthy food blog What’s Cooking Good Looking about her recipes which are designed to make you feel good from the inside out…

We at Get The Gloss believe that beauty, wellness and health are directly linked to what we eat. Which is why we were thrilled to come across What’s Cooking Good Looking, a healthy food blog dedicated to creating meals that “make us feel good from the inside out”. You should visit this blog first if you want to find healthy and tasty food.

Jodi, an acclaimed natural foods chef from New York, was our host. She spoke about her passion for good, healthy food, and how it has affected her daily life.

Let’s start by asking you why you decided to launch your blog.

While I was in culinary program, I created my blog as a way for me to keep track on the recipes that I was creating and also to have an outlet for myself to think about what I would like to do with my life after graduation. Since then, it has turned into so much more than that. It has become my home. This is where I get to meet other people of similar interests and find connections that will help me in finding jobs beyond blogging.

Do you like blogging or do there are any down sides?

I love the organic growth of the blog’s community. This is what my favourite thing about blogging. Through blogging, both online and in person, I’ve made many friends who share my love for good food and healthy living.

I also love that my blog is constantly pushing me to come up with creative ways to cook in the kitchen. It is hard to get in a cooking groove at home. We are always looking for new ways and new ingredients.

Are You Looking for Good Looks?

Sarah Elliott I was unsure of my future career direction for many years. I attempted many different hats, including singing, yoga, styling and acting. My creativity was somewhat embarrassing and I believed that every single step was a mistake. The truth was, that I was on an extremely specific, swoony journey which ended in eyeswoon. This is something I did not realize. Although I longed for my creative voice, I was also desperate to be part of a group. I needed to surround myself with people who shared my passions, people who inspired me and cracked open my world with new flavors, people who challenged me, but ultimately, lifted me up. There’s a lot to be done for people who are likeminded. Through eyeswoon, I not only found myself but also my friends!

Athena, what’s your point? Well, one of those very people is Jodi Moreno . Instagram is a great place to find delicious food photos. What’s Cooking Good Looking caught my eye with its stunning styling and photography. Jodi’s mouthwatering dishes and delicious recipes instantly captivated me. I was even more smitten when she became my neighbor in Amagansett.

Jodi was my neighbor and I wanted to say hi. Jodi offered to help me with a recipe. Jodi was on the Saveur blog awards panel and my post was published. Jodi’s blog was selected! How incredibly serendipitous.

It was amazing how everything began to fall into place once I had found me, made eyeswoon, and got in touch with my community. Moments like this one of discovery and fate-like communication began to show up with plenty.

I mentioned to Jodi that we should cook together in Amagansett this summer. An idea that I’d been dreaming of for a while, I proposed to Jodi: To make authentic Spanish paella over open flames on Amagansett’s bay beach. Jodi was instantly on-board to cook and collaborate, and the rest is history.

This is the first of three stories. This is the first of three parts. There is no better way to develop a deeply rooted friendship than to cook together! We discovered that our passions are shared by friends, family, Amagansett, and farmers.

Next up, the actual beach barbecue. Just wait to see how gorgeous it turned out! Finally, the rose sangria with lavender extract.

It’s summertime romance, community and collaboration at their best
