Why Millions Of Followers Are Cooking With Brenda Gantt

Facebook sensation and “everyone’s grandma,” Brenda Gantt, has amassed a following of more than 2 million hungry fans with her unedited, hilarious, and delicious recipe videos. We feature her FACE of South recipes and the best Southern cooking tips.

Brenda Gantt (75) made a tutorial video almost a whole year ago about the dying of Easter eggs from her Andalusia house. Her video about buttermilk biscuit making, the third she created, went viral. The video now has over 8 million views. Southern home chef is now a viral hit with over 2 million Facebook followers. They are invited to visit her kitchen weekly and learn new Southern cooking techniques. Brenda is charming, smart and well dressed. She’s also hilarious in the kitchen. They are candid and spontaneous, but her videos have a lot of content. These videos can last up to 30 minutes. They include information about her family and past as well her interests, hobbies, faith and useful cooking tips.

Her Deep South drawl lulls like a bedtime story, and her recipes lure viewers in like the fresh-from-the-oven pie sitting on the counter it’s hard to stop watching. A dazzling collection of aprons is also available, with each one telling its own story. Sometimes she is criticised by viewers for her inability to accurately measure things (except cookies, cakes and pies). Brenda does not want to be a judge of people’s five senses. It is her goal to get rid of the fuss that surrounds elaborate cooking, which can make the kitchen chaotic. Her goal is for cooking to be enjoyable, delicious and satisfying to both the mind and body. Brenda Gantt has brought joy to so many through this difficult time. We are so happy that she is our FACE-of the South.

“No wonder people don’t like to cook if the mess in the kitchen is so horrendous!” says Brenda. Brenda tells people who insist on precise measurements that God has given them five senses!

Alabama’S Brenda Gantt Opens Up Her Kitchen To The World

Brenda Gantt is known for her friendly, camera-ready cooking videos that she has posted since April. She now has over 1.6million followers. I just want to cook. She states, “I’m just going keep on doing the same thing I did.” (Sincerely, Shawna Photography). It began simple. Brenda Hicks Gantt (retired educator, grandmother to five, and skilled home chef) set out in a hurry to record a simple video for her congregation to teach young ladies how to make biscuits at home.

Gantt took one hand to a flour bowl, the other to her phone, and made a four minute video. It showed how to make the “two-bite biscuits” her late husband George used.

This video was also shared by the couple, who then had it shared with others. The video had already been shared more than a million times within two weeks.

Friends, as well as new fans, began asking for her videos on how to make cornbread and chicken and dumplings. A lifelong educator, she liked the idea of teaching others, so her son-in-law created a Facebook page for her, ” Cooking with Brenda Gantt ,” to keep the videos separate from her personal page. She decided to share this video with her close friends because they didn’t want it. They only know Brenda (who likes cooking).” The first video that was uploaded was the biscuit video. It was not the end, though. People of all ages liked her combination of simplicity in cooking, charm, and rustic country cuisine. She has over 1.6 million fans.

This was just last April.

Gantt didn’t expect her videos would take off without timing. Even though it was impossible to predict, Gantt’s timing was perfect. Due to COVID-19, she was left at home, with very little to do. However, children and adults discovered her easy-to-follow cooking style. It included humor, a love of tradition and a deep appreciation of the many treasures in life that often seem to have been lost to modern society.

She says, “I believe the coronavirus. It is terrible, but I also think there are good things coming out of it.” “Families are learning that they can survive together in the house for more than a day, and they’re not rushing around to get to ball games and dance recitals.

“People get stuck inside and are bored. So they look at videos on their phones. That’s how I got to them. Then I taught them. “They like my smile!” She has a lot of fans who say her style reminds them of their grandmother. Melissa Gaines of Fort Payne says the biscuits video was the first one she watched and brought back sweet memories.

Brenda Gantt loves cooking for people. Before the pandemic began, Gantt was known for entertaining large crowds of people after church Sundays. Gaines explains that Brenda Gantt cooks similar recipes to the ones my Nanny makes. I’d love to go back and cook with her. Mrs. Gantt’s delicious cooking has made her more popular, but it is a sad fact. “I believe there are a lot lonely people out there,” she states, noting that some older persons may not have a spouse and might be isolated by the restrictions placed on eating out and attending church. I think they’re lonely and need to learn to cook. That’s all I believe. It’s not what I do, it’s my recipe. A book can give them a recipe. It is the interaction they desire.” and she opens up to her viewers. Her sunny personality fills in the gaps between the monotonous tasks like cutting vegetables and making dough. Ask her, “What’ve you been up to today?” “Did your Bible study go well today?” Perhaps she’s getting ready for dinner with her children and family. She may also have been at “The Pig”, where she saw friends as she stocked up on buttermilk shortening, self-rising and buttermilk, which are the essential ingredients in her now famous biscuits. She makes most of the videos herself and uses a case for her phone to hold it. Every so often, one of her granddaughters helps out.

It’s like the viewer is talking to her, which they enjoy. They laughed when I said, “I burnt this. It’s your fault!” ‘” she laughs. “I was so busy talking I burned the cornbread.” Seriously, though, she does feel a responsibility to her fans. My prayer was always and still is to be an influencer on those I meet. Being a positive influence is crucial, so I have always asked God to grant me this.
