Ninja 3-In-1 Cooking System Review + Pot Roast Recipe

I’ve never been a big believer in infomercials. They are hyped up to make us buy crap that we don’t really need. I pass right by them when I’m flipping channels, although I think there might be a blog posts in there somewhere for weirdest infomercial items.

Anywho, I was chatting with a friend the other day and telling her that I needed a new slow cooker. Alan’s mother used our current slow cooker when he was young. The original slow cooker is still in use, and it works. But I wanted something easy to leave at home. My friend had the Ninja 3-in-1 cookware system, which she loved. Since I wanted a slow cooker to go with it, I might as well buy one.

Although my friend is intelligent and loves cooking, I decided to research the Ninja method. I then had an “squirrel”) moment, and went on to another task. Later in the night, as I looked through TV channels, what did I find but an infomercial about Ninja 3-in-1 Food System. Huh, really??? This informercial lasted me 30 seconds. The recommendation, the research I did and the informationmercial convinced me to give Ninja a shot.

It is very easy to put together the Ninja. It’s easy to set up. Just take it out of its box and wash it. You can use the 3-in-1 Cooking system as a slow cooker or stovetop and also an oven. The 3-in-1 Cooking System is primarily for me. I have used it to make pot roasts, and the stove top settings saved me some time.

Two dials make it easy to operate the Ninja. There are two dials that can be used to select which setting you prefer: Slow A Cook, Stove Top, Oven, and then there is a dial at the right for the temperature.

For the pot roast, I placed the Ninja high on the stovetop in order to brown the meat.

After the meat was browned I changed the setting to Slow Cook High and added all my veggies and 1 cup of water.

Yum….

Automatically, the slow cook high setting cooks your food for approximately 4 hours. Then it keeps it warm up to 6 hours. Slow cook low cooks food for 8 hours, then heats it up. This slow cook low setting is my favorite and it’s great for parents working. Simply set the slow cook to low before heading off to work. The food will come out hot ready for you when you get home from work.

You’re done with dinner. You can easily eat the meat and vegetables. You can remove both the meat, veggies, and cook the gravy inside the same saucepan by simply turning the heat to stovetop-high. Love that it truly is just a one pan operation.

Here are all the reasons why I love Ninja’s 3-in-1 cooking system

It is easily my favourite season. It’s still hot enough here in the Pacific Northwest to wear skirts and sandals some days, but then it’s boots and sweaters the next, all under the gorgeous backdrop of changing leaves and fall colors. Just look at my happy harvester, collecting vegetables for the week.

It’s not amazing. Meal planning. You have to be able to plan your meals with unpredictable weather.

A friend recommended slow cooking as an alternative to heating the house and creating unbearable heat. I found that it was possible to have all the great winter dishes I’ve been pining while still using an appliance reserved for winter.

This has been on my wishlist ever since I saw it. Instead of being a big, bulky appliance that only slow cooks and thus only gets used a few times a month, the Ninja Cooking System has the added benefit of being a slow cooker, a roaster, a steam cooker, a baker, and a searing and sauteing machine all in one.

With all the awesome features Ninja packed into the unit, you could literally use it every day for just about all your favorite meals. It means you don’t need to bake or clean up after your meals, and can make healthy delicious meals that your whole family will love.

Basically, it’s my new favorite kitchen appliance, and for some very good reasons:

Searious Cooking – Before slow cooking, you can quickly sear, saute or stir fry in the pot. The Ninja Cooking System allows me to follow the recipe, and I end up making delicious slow-cooked meals the whole family enjoys.

Cook smarter. The buttons on my slow cooker were low and high. The one I used was for four hours while the other was for eight. Once I clicked on it, there were no indicators of how long the food had been cooked or how much patience I’d have to put in. With the Ninja, I can see precisely how long until dinner will be on the table, which I love because no one wants to tell these faces that dinner isn’t ready for another hour… ish.

Triple Fusion Heat(tm), which combines contact heat and direct heat, with steam to make healthier, faster meals, can be used up to 30% faster. My tendency to rush is to cook. This means that I often start foods from frozen, even though I should not. I then get annoyed when the food remains cold. With the Ninja, I can place frozen meats in and they still come out beautifully each time, and in less time than my oven or my stovetop and about a fourth of the time my old slow cooker took.

Cooking healthy is possible with Ninja Cooking System’s recipe collection. Their goal is to preserve natural juices in food while you cook it, so no extra fat is necessary. This will allow you to make the most nutritious and delicious meals.

My Ninja 3-in-1 cooker system was kept in the box for quite a while, but I have to admit that it did not get used very often. I finally pulled it out at Thanksgiving last year to make Stephanie’s Slow-Cooked Maple Ham (a crowd pleaser for sure and so easy to make!) My Special Zesty turkey breast (you won’t go back for regular turkey breast ever again) was then made. I only used the slow cooker feature, which is one of many features that Ninja 3-in-1 cooks system has. This result was excellent. I love the fact that the cooking time remaining is shown on the digital display. Non-stick cooking surface makes the pot easy to clean. And you know the old adage about black making everything look smaller. This is true for slow cookers too! The Ninja was capable of holding a monster ham. I wasn’t sure it would work, but it did. The same goes for large turkey breasts.

You may recall that I published my Ninja 3-in-1 Cooking System review . I absolutely love this appliance. The appliance works well at home. I think it’d be great in a travel setting. Take this example. Every year, our family goes on a camping trip upstate New York. It pours each year. Grilling in rain is not something that anyone enjoys. I will make sandwiches if there’s no one on the other side of the fire. I’m a sucker for sandwiches. But not when it was a juicy, juicy burger. It is possible to cook burgers in the Ninja 3 in 1 Cooking System. The burgers came out very moist and delicious.

To make burgers in the Ninja 3-in-1 Cooking System you use stovetop mode. Place your burgers inside the pan and cook as you would on a regular stovetop. As I am impatient, I cooked them on high. I am sue you could cook these on medium as well.

As you cook, fats will be removed. If possible, keep your hamburgers away from any excess fat.

The burgers were ready to cook in no time. To flip the burgers, I used my tongs.

If you want a cheeseburger instead of a plain hamburger then place a slice of cheese on the top of each burger about 2 minutes before it’s finished cooking.

Serve and enjoy however you like your burgers.
