There’s no secret about how much I love to save money. To save money, I bring my coffee with me to work at most 4 times per week. Coffee can be expensive. For example, let’s suppose I had to buy coffee for 4 dollars five times each week. That’s about $1000 dollars a year. There are many things that you could do with this amount. It is important to bring coffee to work that you like and enjoy. I was running low on coffee and wanted to try the Kirkland Signature House Blend Medium Roast which is roasted by Starbucks. Aside from being able to judge the quality of coffee I drink, my coffee intake has been quite extensive. I used to drink a lot more coffee than I should have when I began working night shifts as a nurse. It turned out that I’m the type of person who can have a large cup of coffee, fall asleep within ten minutes and then go to sleep. However, this did give me an opportunity to experiment with different types of coffee.

Nutritionally, well coffee is controversial! While some people believe coffee is wonderful for you, others disagree. You won’t gain much weight by just drinking delicious coffee. You can only get an increase in your daily caloric intake by drinking coffee with a lot more sugar and cream.

This coffee tastes like a medium to dark roast to me even though it says it is a medium roast, it’s not an oily dark roast. This coffee does not have a bitter taste and doesn’t smell very dark. The flavor is bold, rich, creamy and smooth tasting and there’s no acidic taste! The price is very reasonable for such a good quality and non-oily bean. You’ll love this if you enjoy Starbucks coffee. You may not like dark roasts. This coffee is delicious when I have it black, with no cream. Note: A finer grind will produce a more bold flavor than one that is coarser.

A large bag is only 13.99 Canadian Dollars. I’d bet that a bag this size would last for about one month, depending on how much you roast it and how many times you make it. It’s way cheaper than buying coffee. This is a very good deal in terms of price. You can think of the amount you will save.

Costco doesn’t sell whole coffee beans. You have to grind the beans and then make your coffee. A coffee machine and grinder make this task much more simple. You can also cold brew your coffee with it. It takes a little bit of work but I’m able to make big batches that last about 3 to 4 days when kept in the fridge. I think we all buy coffee more because it’s so convenient but once you get a handle on making your own it is easy!
