My Copper Cow Review: Is this Vietnamese Coffee Subscription worth Trying?

Is This Vietnamese Coffee Subscription Worth Trying?

If you’re a fan of Shark Tank, the reality show on ABC that invites budding entrepreneurs to pitch their business ideas to a group of blood-thirsty investors, you may have also found The Pitch, a podcast from Gimlet Media with a similar concept. Copper Cow was discovered by Debbie Wei Mullin back in 2019, when I became a huge fan. Copper Cow is an innovative idea: Vietnamese pour over coffee which does not require additional equipment. No ceramic dripper, no metal Phin filter, no Chemex. You will need hot water and an insulated mug.

Copper Cow reached me asking if they could review their coffee. I loved the idea and was excited to take on board. Was the packaging clever enough to actually work? How easy would you find it to use? Do you think it would make great coffee?

My Copper Cow Delivery

Vietnamese Coffee is in vogue right now. Nguyen Coffee Supply was reviewed by me recently. I also enjoy the occasional cup of Vietnamese Coffee brewed using the Phin Filters that I got in my package. Copper Cow’s new method allows for a more concentrated and rich tasting cup of coffee. Although it’s easy to prepare coffee using a Phin filter and isn’t too difficult, I was interested in Copper Cow’s innovative design. I wanted to know how the portable pour-over worked for me.

The “Classic Subscription”, by, is an excellent choice. The box contained 20 black coffee packets, 20 creamers and two samples of flavored coffees.

A flyer was sent to me introducing salted caramel flavored coffee, which I got in my subscription box.

Copper Cow’s standard espresso coffee has a combination of 70% Robusta and 30 percent Arabica coffee beans. American roasters aren’t using Robusta beans as often as they should, however, Vietnamese coffee lovers love their strong flavor and high caffeine content. This blend is pre-ground and packaged in a ready-to-use pour-over coffee filter. On the back are instructions on how to make your coffee. Here’s a description of the coffee from Copper Cow:

This coffee may be “Just Black”, but it is as rich as any other. It’s strong and bold, but also straight-forward and extremely smooth. Our black coffee can showcase the full range of flavors in the Vietnamese blend. It is left to its own devices and it will.

Sufted condensed milk is the best way to enjoy Vietnamese coffee. The product contains only milk, sugar, and no preservatives. Each portion contains about 100 calories.

This shipment features samples of salted caramel coffee. This is the description.

Portable Vietnamese-Pour Over Coffee

Review and photos by Hailey Hirst Morning coffee is a ritual, a routine. Morning coffee is a ritual, a routine. We need the caffeine boost and comfort that comes with a cup of morning coffee to start our day off right or to energize us for the afternoon. We naturally want that same habit to be with us outdoors.

As Anna Brones said in her interview about Best Served Wild , food just tastes better when you’re in a beautiful landscape.

This is also true of coffee. However, the ideal cup of camp-coffee is still a topic of much discussion. Our options range from instant or tea-bag-style coffee to cowboy and instant coffee.

Copper Cow Coffee was kind enough to offer us their Vietnamese coffee portable pour-over, and we gladly accepted the invitation.

After enjoying a few cups of hot water on a Banff National Park hike, we enjoyed another cup on Oahu Beach at sunrise. The water isn’t just useful for backpacking. It can be used in any weather conditions.

Takeaways:

It’s delicious coffee. Another box was purchased and I will gift it to outdoor enthusiasts this Christmas. The experience of making pour-over coffee that tastes good and can be enjoyed at places like a beach at sunrise or camp in the backcountry, is worth a little bit more cost and pack weight sometimes. In the wild, it’s an absolute luxury.

It’s all about how you experience coffee. Nichole Johnson said, “Coffee, is not just a beverage.” Coffee is more than a hot cup of coffee. It’s an invitation to live, disguised in a warm beverage. You can hear it as a wake-up bell or gentle hand on your shoulder. Coffee is an invitation to life, disguised in a cup of warm liquid.

Copper Cow Coffee is a woman and minority-owned and operated company founded in 2016 by Vietnamese-Californian Debbie Mullin. Debbie brings the highest quality and equitably sourced Vietnamese coffee to the US through her passion for food and her previous experience working for World Bank in sustainable development. The Portable Pour Over technology, along with a single cup of California sweetened milk makes it easy to brew specialty coffee anywhere you are.

Editor’s Note: Hailey was provided with the coffee by Copper Cow in exchange for her honest review. These are her real and honest opinions about the coffee.

Copper Cow Coffee Review

Alyson Lewis 2 years ago in product review Report Story Vietnamese coffee isn’t new, but what makes Copper Cow interesting is the ability to make a smooth coffee that is travel friendly and doesn’t skimp on quality.

There are always new forms of coffee, with better quality or smoother tastes. Vietnamese coffee isn’t new, but what makes Copper Cow interesting is the ability to make a smooth coffee that is travel friendly and doesn’t skimp on quality. Vietnamese coffee is my absolute favorite. I have to be careful with my dairy consumption, but I will always–I mean ALWAYS drink a Vietnamese coffee when I have the chance. As I’ve embarked on my coffee journey, I’ve tried any variety I could get my hands on. Different brewing methods have different tastes and I am able to discern the difference between good and bad coffee. This doesn’t stop me from drinking it, because I am indiscriminate when it comes to certain things, but I like being able to tell the difference. This is a sign that I am learning about the subject.

Vietnamese coffee usually comes from local shops. My food orders are based on my mood. The perfect foods are grilled chicken or basil rolls. They’re something I constantly think about. Because I am afraid that I might overorder (4-6), my passion for these rolls would be lost. This is the best way for me to manage my love for different foods or drinks–I can’t eat them all the time. The best thing for me is to keep my distance and wait till the urge becomes so strong that I cannot control it any more. I don’t know why I’m talking about these damn rolls. They may be because they aren’t available in my house for at least a week.

Copper Cow Coffee’s ad on Instagram got me hooked immediately. I decided to look at the Copper Cow website instead of ordering food. The coffee packs are something I prefer to look at before trying it. Debbie Wei founded the brand after studying sustainability at college. She wanted to create a Vietnamese-style pour-over coffee that did not compromise quality and add waste to our planet. The beans are grown in Vietnam, consisting of 70% Robusta and 30% Arabica beans. Because of their efficiency, the pour-over method is preferred. The grounds are soaked in hot water and brewed. Copper Cow’s coffee can be packed in single packets, making it easy to take with you. A wide range of flavors are available. Although I chose to buy the Classic package, you can also choose from Churro Latte or Rose Latte. A bundle option is available as well as vegan/dairyfree creamer choices. A quiz can be taken on the website which will allow you to choose what flavor to try.

You can make coffee in no time at all. Although it may seem daunting, all that is required to make the coffee is place the filter into a mug, and then pour hot water over the filter. The coffee is delicious. The flavor is smooth, and it doesn’t remind me of any travel-friendly or portable coffee I’ve ever had before. The coffee isn’t like the tiny packets in hotel rooms which taste almost like they came straight from the gas station. This coffee is clearly high quality and made with great care. Excellent creamer comes as an accompaniment. This creamer has a very sweet taste, as is to be expected. It’s made only of sugar and milk. It doesn’t contain any unidentifiable sweeteners or ingredients, so it can be used as-is.

Copper Cow Coffee does not have to be drunk in the traditional way of pouring it over. There are several other methods you can enjoy Copper Cow Coffee. I would like to use the coffee for cold brew and iced coffee. Instructions are on the box !!). I’m extremely impressed with everything Copper Cow has to offer and look forward to trying more flavors. It is highly recommended and I give it a rating of 10/10.

CCC supports sustainable agriculture in Vietnam and works to make specialty Vietnamese coffee more accessible in the US through modern design, innovative packaging, as well as socially and environmentally-conscious sourcing.

How Much Caffeine Is In A Cup Of Copper Cow Coffee?

An 8 oz cup of Copper Cow Coffee has approximately 238-272 mg of caffeine (amount varies by flavor), A.K.A. It’s 2-3x the caffeine of a standard cup at your coffee shop. Decaf coffee is less than 5mg in caffeine.

Are Copper Cows Compostable?

Copper Cow Coffee’s single-use coffee filter mimics the Vietnamese phin. However, it is completely compostable and comes pre-filled.

Vietnamese Coffee: Is It Over?

Vietnamese coffee is usually brewed with a “phin”, an aluminum filter which sits on top and drips the coffee straight into the cup. It is similar to a Pour Over method but requires more effort with pouring. I decided to make the coffee using the OXO Pour-Over Coffee set.
