Hulu’s Best Food Shows You Can Watch Right Now

Julie Vadnal penned this post September 2, 20,21. This page may contain affiliate links that allow you to make a purchase.

What are you searching for to stream this weekend, and what do you recommend? Hulu has some of the most popular food shows right now, such as “Taste the Nation”, which is hosted by Padma Lakshmi.

You probably know that Netflix has the best original programming that is focused on food if you are a TV fanatic. Hulu also streams some of the best, most popular and food-centric episodes. These television series are all worth the effort. You can trust us to say that the “The Handmaid’s Tale”, although it is the most popular, should not be the main reason why you visit Hulu Below. The best Hulu shows include “Taste the Nation With Padma Lakshmi,” which follows Padma Lakshmi (“Top Chef”) as she journeys around the US to learn more about American food. Because we are a nation made up mostly of immigrants, Lakshmi came here from India when she was four years old. Our food is complex and intertwined with politics as well as cultural identities. They are equally important to examine the complex history and relationships that go behind the dishes as well as all the other delicious foods. This series focuses on the mainstream, which includes a deeper dive into all-American hot dogs, as well as lesser-known food traditions like Gullah Geekchee cuisine, in South Carolina, and Arizona native ingredients. The series came at the perfect moment, and while it may make you think more, it also makes you hungry. While we are safe and secure at home, this book vicariously stirs our wanderlust.

Action Bronson, before he became a rapper was a New York City chef. So suddenly, the idea that a man who can rap lyrics such as “As Bocelli sings celly rings” and hosts an original series becomes less random. Bronson shows how he knows his way around a cooking area and is an excellent host. He also has fun with it, as shown in this episode where his team stopped by Rose’s Luxury in Washington, D.C., one of their favorite spots. You think you are better at cooking than Bobby Flay? (Check his book Beat Bobby Flay. The Food Network’s “Beat Bobby Flay” series is based on this idea. In it, other chefs compete against the master chef with Sunny Anderson and Giada Del Laurentiis reviewing the sometimes delicious results. Enjoy the culinary inspiration but also stay for the drama. Ted Allen, host of “Chopped,” and Debi Mazar from Cooking Channel are competing for Flay’s top prize.

These pot brownies are not for your friend the stoner. Abdullah Saeed of VICE, an experienced television host and advocate for cannabis rights, along with his companions like Cat Cora, cook edibles. They make the pot into Thai food, pizza, and barbeque. You can even have a Mother’s Day brunch made with it. Yeah, man.

Do you find it difficult to see a Cinnamon Roll tutorial on the small screen of your iPhone before bed? Instead of scrolling through a YouTube tutorial and then getting up, watch one of Tasty tutorials. A wide range of delicious recipes are available, including the ultimate roast chicken or the creamyest cheesecake. See? It’s so much better than watching “Diners Drive-ins and Dives” every night. Hulu now has 12 seasons of this hit Food Network series (that’s 154 episodes). Teen Tournaments are also available, as well as the “Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations” challenge. *chef’s kiss* Anthony Bourdain “No Reservations” Bourdain was a pioneer in travel and food television. Bourdain takes with him his charisma, unparalleled wit, as well as a passion for adventure.

Nothing is more tender than a team of children participating in a competition to cook. MasterChef Junior (the child version of Fox’s popular Fox series MasterChef) is a spin-off that features ragtag, young children with cooking skills superior to their own. They are our support throughout.

Want to enjoy a multi-season feast? “Top Chef” boasts 16 seasons on Hulu, replete with fiery culinary competition as 17 chefs duke it out for the title of Top Chef.

There are only two Ina Garten episodes available at the moment. But, if you’re looking for a recipe or tips on making cocktails, these videos will be worth your time.

BuzzFeed producers Steven Lim and Andrew Ilnyckyj, teamed up with their fearless cameraman Adam Bianchi, travel the world, determining whether foods are worth it at three price points: affordable, middle tier, and luxury. Each episode will feature an affordable $32 burrito (or $95 salad) and a delicious $1,000 dollar bagel.

Best Cooking Shows On Hulu

Ayesha’s Home Kitchen – I love the Currys and this is a fun show with some great entertaining and family food ideas.

Eat, Sleep and BBQ: I’m a big fan of lifestyle shows, so Rashad Jones, who travels the country searching for good barbecue, fits that bill.

Britain’s Best Cook – Although I rarely watch cooking competitions, Mary Berry is my queen, and I always follow her wherever she goes.

Cake Boss – This show seems to be kind of polarizing, but my son loves it and I love watching it with him so I’m here for it.

TASTY 101 – An entertaining and quick way to refresh your basics skills. It’s a wonderful episode, especially the one on cast iron. You will become a better cook if you do not switch.

Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations – I haven’t watched a minute of his work since his death; I don’t know when I’ll be able to. Even though I have seen every one of them at least once, this is my favorite work.

The Quest of Alain Ducasse – Again, a movie but whatever. Alain Ducasse.

Neat. The Story of Bourbon. Bourbon’s America native booze. And I am a mint-julep girl, so this story intrigued me. Again, a documentary, not a TV show.

Behind the Barr – I was an undergraduate bartender. I knew that my secret dream, though it might not have been as idyllic in reality as what I imagined from personal experience, was to open my own neighborhood Friends-style coffee-bar which would then turn into Cheers at Night. Free food, good drinks, nice people. The show’s charm is that it is nostalgic for the days of your restaurant service or teaches you about what life was like behind the counter. Also, for the same reason, I watched a lot more of Restaurant: Impossible Food Paradise. This one season is about what people crave when traveling in the U.S. Some good recommendations if you frequently do so, I’m adding to my food bucket list with every episode.

Gordon Ramsay’s Ultimate Home Cooking- This is the one show you should watch on Hulu this season. The Amazon Prime List raved about this show and it remains my favorite food television program. Ramsay’s cooking lessons will teach you the fundamentals of cookery. You will be able to cook with confidence.

What if it’s not easy? This email isn’t right.

Hulu and Spotify have partnered to offer college students discounted subscriptions. This means that I have a Hulu account and can now add an online streaming option (woo!) to my arsenal of procrastination tools.

While I don’t usually watch TV much, as I tend to be doing other things, I still enjoy cooking shows while listening to Sociology and cooking. It’s nothing that boosts my ability to cook like being shouted at and criticized by famous chefs. In order to make sure we all have access to the finest television shows, I’ve put together a list on Hulu of great food shows you must watch. We all deserve a rest.

It’s a timeless show. I was hooked on the first cooking contest, Chopped. I’d be surprised if you haven’t heard of ” Chopped ” yet, as it’s been running for almost 10 years. You might not know that the program pits four chefs in rounds of dinners, appetizers, and desserts against one another. Three mystery ingredients must be used in each dish, with a single chef being “chopped out” at the end of each round.

Sets the stage for cooking battles between Iron chefs, such as Mario Batali or Bobby Flay. Outside challengers can also take part in each meal. The program is described as a follow-up to the Japanese series. The Iron Chefs are selected through either existing Food Network programs and the “The Next Iron Chef” supplement.

Each season, 12 chefs compete to host their Food Network series. Each episode sees a new chef eliminated. This is unlike other cooking shows where the chefs stay the same throughout each season. Think “American Idol,” but with cooking.

Another Food Network success, ” Cupcake Wars ,” pits four cupcake bakers against each other in a themed battle, culminating in a 1,000 cupcake display that determines which baker wins the $10,000 prize. This one is a little more cheesy, but the cupcake concoctions are worth the bad jokes.

Guy Fieri host this cooking series that is set inside a grocery store. Four chefs take on a series creatively difficult themes, such as creating sandwiches with no bread aisles or making a frozen meal. Even after someone wins, they don’t automatically get prize money they must check off items from a shopping list, racking up $2,000 per item, within two minutes.

The UK’s Gordon Ramsey hosts this show that pits family members against each other over an hour. Ramsey also brings in surprise celebrity guests to judge the dishes and hosts variety show-esque games with diners and audience members.

This episode offers historical perspectives as it focuses on a specific historical period. Comedian Sue Perkins and journalist Giles Coren tag team periods like “Wartime” and “Victorian” in a hilarious combination of eating, cooking, and confusion.
